What is it?
The AGESW Roundtables Luncheon, held at the Gerontological Society of America’s annual meeting, provides a space where gerontological social work scholars can collaborate across a range of topics, participate in mentoring relationships with national leaders and peers, and discuss new and ongoing projects to advance their specific areas of knowledge.
Who is it for?
All AGESW members and any interested colleagues and students are encouraged to attend this event. The free Roundtables Luncheon will bring together social work scholars in aging from different stages of career advancement for networking, professional development, and collaboration. Any social work scholar attending the GSA annual meeting who is interested in learning more about the work being done by AGESW members can register for the Roundtables Luncheon at no cost.
When is it?
Registration is now open! We hope you will register and spread the word to your colleagues and students. Scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019 from 12 to 1:30pm, the Luncheon should not conflict with any major conference events, award sessions, or section meetings.
What should I do to prepare?
No preparation is needed! Just show up with an appetite for lunch and collaboration.
In the meanwhile, if you previously attended an AGESW Networking Luncheon that ultimately led to collaborative scholarship of any kind, please consider sending us a note at ageswnetwork@gmail.com about how the networking event played a role in your success. We would like to use your story to inspire others to attend and collaborate.
